There are many student initiatives, associations and university groups around Darmstadt's universities. These cover numerous areas of interest and there should be something for everyone - be it an international, cultural or subject-related topic. You can find a good overview of this topic on the website of the Studierendenwerk Darmstadt. With the groups listed there, it is usually unimportant at which university you study. So just take a look and see if there's something for you.

Raised beds made of old pallets, self-designed and built wild bee houses or actions to reduce waste? A group of h_da students have joined forces to form the Student Initiative for Sustainable Development, st:ine for short, in order to make the campus greener and more diverse and to initiate actions and projects around the topic of sustainable development. The interdisciplinary research project GAUSS is something for everyone who loves speed and innovation. Students from the departments of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Economics and Design are developing an electric sports bike. In addition to numerous innovative sub-optimisations, the focus of the project is on maximising the range by means of high-voltage energy storage and a quick-change battery system with active water cooling.
