Departament council
Departments also must make a lot of decisions
At the departmental level, the departmental council is the most important body. It discusses issues that are of fundamental importance to the department. These can be the enactment of examination regulations, the establishment or cancellation of degree programmes or proposals for the appointment of professors. The departmental council also elects the head of a department - the dean's office - consisting of the dean, the dean of studies and the vice-dean.
You want to have a say in your department?
The departmental council is made up of six professors, one departmental staff member and a total of four students from the department. If you are interested in working on the departmental council of your department, you can apply as a candidate in the course of the annual university elections. You can find detailed information and an explanatory video on the subject of university elections on the AStA website.
