Student Parliament (StuPa)

A parliament for the students

The Student Parliament (StuPa) is the highest decision-making body of the student body. The student body is made up of all students enrolled at a university. The StuPa functions in a similar way to the state parliament, for example - no individuals are directly elected, but rather lists are drawn up to express the political will of the students.

The StuPa has the following tasks, among others:

  • Electing the General Students' Committee (AStA), for example the Finance Department, the Social Department or the Department for University Policy,
  • Determining the semester fees,
  • Negotiations with the RMV regarding the semester ticket, together with the AStA,
  • Monitoring the AStA, for example as the student audit committee,
  • Distributing funds to the relevant departments and student councils.

Run for election with your own list

If you think that the existing StuPa lists do not represent your interests well enough, you can of course form your own list with like-minded people and stand for election.

You can find information about this on the AStA website.
